There are four living species in this class. Horseshoe crabs you see today may differ from ones that existed a long time ago. Horseshoe crabs are 20 in long and weigh 11 lbs. Horseshoe crabs have five legs arranged around their mouth used to crush clams, algae, worms ,and barnacles. Horseshoe crabs live to about 30 years of age.
